Recycling Success Story
Northwest Pulp and Paper Association and our member mills believe in reuse, recovery and recycling of wood and paper products.
Many of the paper products purchased by consumers each week are made at Northwest mills. Consumers have responded to investment in recycling equipment and modernizing by Northwest pulp and paper mills over the past 20 years by purchasing a growing list of products made from recycled materials such as newspapers, paper towels, writing paper, container cardboard and gift cards.
Last year 48.3 percent of all paper Americans used was recovered, marking an all time record of 47.3 million tons, according to annual reports from the American Forest and Paper Association.
